Quality Management System

It is the policy of Unii Engineering Consultancy to provide professional Construction Consultancy Services at an economic level to the standard and requirements of our Client’s.

Unii Engineering Consultancy have produced a Quality Systems Manual that includes laid down procedures with regard to the quality of our working documentation and service to Clients.

All employees are required to adhere to the documented procedures referred to in the Quality Systems Manual. By encouraging all employees to strive for excellence in their professional duties we aim for an efficient, economical, environmentally friendly and effective product that meets the needs of our Client’s.

We have a policy of training and educating our staff to help them achieve job satisfaction and understand the requirements of their job and how they fit into the organization.

There are regular monitoring procedures in place to ensure quality objective are met. In general this is achieved by the checking of all outgoing documentation by a professional who has not previously worked on this project. Where possible industry standard methods of working have been adapted for consistency with other professional team members

Principles of quality are relayed to staff from the initial recruitment onwards, with regular technical and all staff meetings held to gain feedback and constant improvement.

Environmental Policy

Unii Engineering Consultancy  recognize that our work can have positive environmental advantages and are determined to ensure that environmental benefits are strengthened across all of our operations.

In pursuing the best environmental options in our designs and recommendations:-

  • We will comply fully with and keep abreast of all legal obligations regarding our operations and require all our employees to act in accordance with our environmental policy.
  • We will ensure that projects under our control are managed in a way that incorporate assessment of the impact on the environment and takes appropriate action to keep any adverse impact to a minimum.
  • We will review our activities on a continuing basis to instigate further improvements as identified, to further reduce our impact on the environment.
  • Employ processes and procedures that minimize waste, and recycle the waste that is produced, at local facilities.

  • We will use designs that make efficient and environmentally responsible use of resources such as gas, oil, electricity and water and minimize waste production wherever possible.
  • We will promote within our operation the environmentally responsible procurement of goods and services and educate and promote this ethos to all employees.
  • We maintain a high level of employee awareness through training and the ongoing involvement of senior staff at Director level.

The main responsibility for the implementation of this Policy rests with the Managing Director, but it is stressed that all employees have an important role to play in putting our aims into practice. We will employ the industry tools available to assist in these processes:

We are Registered Design Consultants and are therefore qualified to carry out consultations for Client’s intending to initiate new build or refurbishment projects, advising on sustainability and energy conservation, waste reduction and recycling etc.

Impact:     Performance, urban and social integration, internal environment, form and material, character and innovation.

 

Health & Safety Policy

The Health and Safety standards followed place a duty on the Company to prepare and revise as appropriate a written statement of general policy on the Health and Safety at work of its employees and the organization and arrangements in force for carrying out that policy

The policy and any revisions shall be brought to the notice of the employees.

Unii Engineering Consultancy Health and Safety Policy is the direct concern of all employees and management is accountable to the Board for its implementation.

This policy has been prepared in accordance with the ISO Health and Safety standards which imposes general duties on all directors, managers, employees, and the self employed, in the interest of anyone that may be affected by the company’s undertakings. It also applies to full-time, part-time, agency and contract staff, staff that are permanently based in the office or those who are visiting. Furthermore due to the nature of the business it shall also apply to work being carried out externally on company business, so far as is reasonably practicable. Where attendance of a site managed by others is required, and a dedicated Health & Safety Policy applies to that employer, then this shall prevail.

Unii Engineering Consultancy recognizes its Health and Safety duties under the Health and Safety and associated regulations made under the ISO Standards.

The Company has a system for reporting of accidents, diseases and dangerous occurrences to the relevant enforcing authority.

The Company will so far as is reasonably practicable: -

  • Provide and maintain a safe place of work, a safe system of work, safe appliances for work and a safe and healthy environment; and
  • Provide such information and instruction as may be necessary to ensure the health and safety of its employees and to promote awareness and understanding of Health and Safety.

Written procedures and monitoring systems are provided to achieve this goal.

All employees of the Company agree, as a condition of their contract of employment, to take reasonable care for the Health and Safety of themselves and those who may be affected by their acts or omissions. They will co-operate with their employer to enable their employer to carry out his Health and Safety duties towards them. Failure to comply with Health and Safety duties can lead to instant dismissal.

Responsibility for Health and Safety lies with the Managing Director and Board of Directors of the Company. This responsibility is delegated to line management in accordance with the usual chain of duties.

Unii Engineering Consultancy recognizes its duty of care to the general public and all lawful visitors to the Company’s premises and those areas under its control, and others who may be affected by its undertakings. Persons who fail to take reasonable precautions for their own Health and Safety will be regarded as in breach of Company Policy, which will entitle the Company to take the appropriate measures.
